As a boat owner, you may have realized how difficult it is to take photographs of the boat, with yourself and crew on board.  Why is that? Because you need someone else with a camera, on another boat, at the right time, who knows how to take the photos in those conditions.  For this reason, Reneau and Laura Van Landingham have brought their passion for boating and love of photography together to form Boatographs.

Reneau Van Landingham has years of experience racing sailboats, motor boating, rowing, and canoeing.  He learned to race Sunfish, Lasers, and Lightning sailboats on inland lakes in North Carolina.  When the wind was not blowing, he enjoyed water skiing and rowing shells.  In college, he was the captain/coach of the North Carolina State University sailing team where he competed in 420s and Solings against other colleges and universities in the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association.  As a member of the Catawba Yacht Club he continued to hone his racing skills in Lightnings.  Later, he navigated the Potomac River in a Catalina 25.  More recently, Reneau and his wife, Laura, have been sharing their Hobie 16 with family and friends.

While Laura Van Landingham’s passion for sailing and canoeing came with her relationship with Reneau, her expertise in office administration and outstanding customer service were developed through her business background.  Her years as a Mary Kay consultant combined with her office management for healthcare providers has given her a special skill set uniquely qualifying her to work with her husband to provide a much needed service for boat owners and enthusiasts in the mid-Atlantic region.
